Buying a domain

How it works

Straightforward process — browse, enquire or purchase on Sedo, then complete the transfer.

  1. Browse the portfolio

Explore domains by category — geography, real estate, technology, and specialty names. Open a listing for pricing, context, and suggested uses.

  2. Enquire or buy on Sedo

Use our contact form for a direct conversation, or complete a Buy Now purchase on Sedo where a listing is live. We help serious buyers through either path.

  3. Secure the transfer

Once terms are agreed, the domain is transferred to your registrar account. GST and any transfer fees are separate from the listed USD price unless noted otherwise.

FAQ

Common questions

Pricing, Sedo, transfers, portfolio sites, and what a domain listing includes.

Are prices in Australian or US dollars?

Listed Buy Now prices are in US dollars (USD), matching our Sedo listings. They exclude GST and any applicable transfer costs unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Can I buy through Farming Domains or only on Sedo?

Either path works. Many names are listed on Sedo for secure Buy Now checkout. You can also enquire directly via our contact form if you prefer to talk first or discuss terms.

What happens after I purchase?

We coordinate the registrant transfer to the account you nominate (or follow Sedo’s process when you buy there). You then renew the domain annually with your chosen registrar.

Do you sell the business or property behind a place name?

No. A geographical or real-estate domain is the domain name only — not real estate, tenancies, businesses, or official representation of a locality or council.

How quickly do you respond to enquiries?

We aim to reply to serious acquisition enquiries as soon as practical, usually within one to two business days. Including your intended use and timeline helps us respond usefully.

Are portfolio websites for sale?

Active portfolio sites (community and project domains) are generally not for sale. The Domains section lists names currently available for acquisition.
